The Harry Mason Cask Breather, also known as an Autovent or Race Ventilator, is designed to help extend the life of ale in the cask by controlling the air entering during dispense. Suitable for both vertical dispense systems and traditional laydown setups, it uses a duckbill non-return valve to allow only natural air into the cask as beer is drawn.
Made from durable food-grade material, the breather is installed by creating a hole in the shive using a venting punch or barrel vent peg. It can also be taken apart for cleaning, with the cap and silicone valve easily removed for washing in hot soapy water or cleaning solution using a cleaning brush.
